Sri Chinmoy

Sri Chinmoy was born in the small town of Shakpura in East Bengal in 1931. Sri Chinmoy was the youngest of seven children. During 1944, after both his parents had approved away, 12 years-old Chinmoy entered the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, a spiritual culture society near Pondicherry in South India. Here he exhausted the next 20 years in spiritual practice – counting long hours of thought, practising athletics, symbols poetry, essays and religious songs.
 

In his early youth, Chinmoy had lots of intense inner experience, and in succeeding years achieved very higher states of thought. In 1964, he encouraged to New York City to split his inner wealth with truthful seekers in the west.

Sri Chinmoy sees objective – the heart’s constant desire for still higher and deeper realities – as the spiritual force after all huge advances in religion, culture, sports and science. Through alive in the heart and hopeful for continual self-transcendence, men and women can bring advance the greatest in them and locate their path to true approval. In his words:
 

“Our aim is to go from bright to brightest, from high to higher to highest and even in the maximum, there is no end to our development, for God Himself is inside each of us and God at every moment is transcending His own Reality.”
 

Sri Chinmoy serves as religious guide to students in some 60 countries around the world, hopeful an impartial lifestyle that incorporates the inner disciplines of prayer and thought with the drive of contemporary life.
 

Sri Chinmoy’s life was a face of endless originality. His huge output spans the domains of music, poetry, painting, writing and activity. His charity in each of these fields has been signal and far-reaching.
 

Sri Chinmoy regularly travelled during the world to present free concerts, lectures and community meditations, to meet with his students, and to meet and discuss spirituality with world and society leaders. Sri Chinmoy did not charge a fee for this religious direction, concerts, lectures and public meditations.
