Dakshinamurthy or Jnana Dakshinamurti is a feature of Shiva as a guru of all type of knowledge, chiefly the jnana. This feature of Shiva is his distillation as the highest or the ultimate awareness, understanding and facts.

This appearance represents Shiva in his feature as a teacher of yoga, music, and wisdom, and giving description on the shastras. It is worshiped as the deity of knowledge, whole and worthwhile as the god of wisdom, complete and rewarding meditation.
 

The huge sage Ramana Maharshi, has interpret the name as “Dakshina-amurty”, meaning one who is talented but without form.

One of my father's friends is collecting all the pictures of Lord Dakshinamurthy. So, would u be able to tell me as to from which temple is the second photograph taken?
