Guru Shankara was born in a simple Brahmin family in the year 788 AD in Village Kaladi which is situated on the bank of the river Purna which is located in the Southern Indian Coastal status of Kerala. His father name was Sivaguru and mother name was Aryamba. When Swami Shankara was born his father and mother was happy because they had childless for a long time.

Saints Shankara was a brilliant student in his age. Once he read anything it was saved in his mind. That was why Swami Shankara mastered of every Vedas and the Six Vedangas beginning the local Gurukul.
