Yogi Ramsuratkumar

The person that comes to be called Sri Yogi Ramsuratkumar was born on December 1, 1918, along the banks of the Ganges in a village adjoining to Kashi, near Varanasi (Benares), India.

Extremely early in his Childhood he showed signs of a religious desire, creature evenly drawn to the Saints and Sadhus that lived beside the banks of the Ganges.

 

While he was 12 years old he had a religious beginning. Even pulling water from a fine one night he saw a sparrow on the stone coping of the well wall. During a child-like desire he threw the rope towards it, outstanding the bird causing it to fall to the ground.

Suffering with uncontrollable grief and drenched in tears, he took the bird in his hands and pouring water into its beak is a crack to restore it, but the bird was dead.

The bird’s death raised a number of questions in his mind. He regretted his act and resented the truth that he acted suddenly, and if had not, the spirit could have been averted. The Suffer that he practiced filled his spirit with kindness towards all creatures.

 

While he was 16 years old, enthused by a huge desire to explore for God, he left his house carrying naught with him and began his drive in search of a Guru. In 1947, now 29 years of age, establish him at the ashram of Sri Aurobindo in Pondicherry. A believer there suggested he visit Sri Ramana Maharshi at Tiruvannamalai.

He lived there for three days and was filled with an still larger spiritual energy. Present he obtained a newspaper feature that led him to Swami Ramdas at Kanhangad in kerala. He then returned to Varanasi. The following years, in 1948, he returns to Sri Aurobindo ashram. Then he went to Ramanashram and stay there for two months, in proximity of Sri Ramana Maharshi. He felt require for a Guru and return to Swami Ramdas, and exposed his full brilliant religious light.
